I have probably said this before, but if I had to pick a favorite part of this job being a silversmith, it might just be picking out the stones for each project. I wanted to share this particularly droolworthy group of cabochons so you can see what I mean. And maybe to convince some of you blue-turquoise-loving folks that the greens are really where it’s at ;). Only half kidding. Blues are beautiful too!

This batch, which is a mix of turquoise and variscite, is destined to become new rings with copper bezels. Copper and green are such a striking combo. Turquoise would not even exist without copper. It is when copper, water and other minerals undergo a complex process of interactions that the formation of turquoise deposits occur.

By the end of July these delicious stones will be available as rings made to order in your size. I have already been working on the bezel settings so you have a preview of what the rings will look like. This will be a new offering for me, and I hope it proves to work well for both of us! You get the size you need and I don’t end up making a size that just won’t ever sell.
