dry creek turquoise/aluminite ring with copper bezel - 6.25/6.5
Measurements: Ring is between size 6.25 and 6.5 on a mandrel. The band tapers from 5/16" at the widest point to 3/16" at the narrowest point in the back.
Is it white turquoise? Perhaps! Or maybe it’s aluminite, which is found alongside Dry Creek Turquoise. The aluminite remains white since there aren't many heavy metals present in the host rock to give it the characteristic green or blue color of turquoise. For more info on the Dry Creek mine and aluminite, you can visit this site and read my blog post. In any case, I find this unusual stone lovely when paired with the warm tones of the copper bezel, which will take on its own distinct patina over time. The rest of the ring is made with recycled silver. You won't find any more Dry Creek Turquoise/Aluminite in my work for a while, since these are the last stones I have.
