I just listed a golden seashell necklace made from reclaimed gold. This little pendant came to be when I envisioned a circular charm, but one with more dimension than a simple round disk. I love lines as texture (you see it often in my work) so here I decided to make a likeness of a shell with all these lines. The gold itself I alloyed from 22k to 14k and poured as an ingot, basically a big slab of gold. Then I hammered and rolled this ingot with a rolling mill into thinner sheet, from which I then sawed it out, textured and formed the final shape of the charm.
Here is a little progress shot.

This necklace is fabulous for layering, or perfect on its own. The 14K chain is suuuuuper dainty- that's the look I was going for. Wear with care and/or save it for date night out if you have a small child who likes to grab necklaces!

See the necklace in the shop here.
