It’s a different world this holiday season. With the pandemic surging again, in-person gift markets are pretty much off the table. Like much of the rest of things, markets are going virtual. The one I’m going to tell you about is not on Zoom, but hey, I’m sure there’s a market on Zoom out there somewhere! Anyway, the one holiday market event I’ll be part of this year is called The Sisters Art Guild Holiday Market. It runs the weekend after Thanksgiving, November 28 and 29.

The Sisters Art Guild is a new group of womxn artists of all stripes who’ve joined virtually to boost one another’s exposure and audience as well as support each other in our creative ventures.

How will this virtual market work? Well the hub will be the Sisters Art Guild Website, where each participating artist will have a link to their personal online shop. The links will go live that Saturday, November 28. Additionally, throughout the weekend each artist will be featured on the Sisters Art Guild Instagram page. You can visit the Instagram page now to check out the bios of each participant. Keep an eye out for special video tours, product spotlights, live streams, and more from each artist on their own Instagram pages from now until the event. Over the 28 and 29th it’ll be like we will each be curating our “booth” as if it were an in-person market. I may create a video or do my first ever Instagram live to better show the pieces currently listed on my site and to share the small batch of new jewels I plan to have. So come in, stop by, and click around to discover the perfect handmade holiday gifts!

Oh, and each artist in this market has committed to donating a percentage of sales to an organization of their choice, ideally doing work to uplift and empower women. I will be donating to Tucson YWCA, who does so much to create job training opportunities, support small businesses and fight racism in the Southern AZ community.
