January BIPOC Spotlight on THE BLACK METALSMITHS MARKETPLACE

This month I am doing something a little different for the BIPOC-owned jewelry business spotlight. I want to share with you about a semi-permanent online marketplace featuring all Black jewelers,
THE BLACK METALSMITHS MARKETPLACE,
put on by Metalsmiths for Change.

This virtual market is also a fundraiser for organizations fighting for social and racial justice. Please head to the BLACK METALSMITHS MARKETPLACE right now to see the incredible array of jewelry available. Each artist is linked in their listing so you can discover dozens of Black-owned jewelry businesses from one place.

The proceeds from January's sales will be split as follows: 75% will go to the artists; 20% will be split between The National Black Disability Coalition, the Emanuel Nine Memorial and the organization Check your Privilege; with the remaining 5% going to the Metalsmiths for Change Fund. I want to give a shoutout to Kendria Thompson of Solid Treasures (who was featured in this past spotlight). She is seemingly unstoppable. She not only runs her own jewelry business and an illustration business, she is also the force behind Metalsmiths for Change, which "exists to advocate for racial and social justice through collaboration and to provide equitable opportunities for black artists". Thank you, Kendria, for the work you do, and for creating an avenue for your fellow artists to use our skills for the greater good.
