Inspired by the Arizona Poppies in my backyard-- a handful of little volunteer plants that I look forward to greeting each morning (new flowers open each day!)--this necklace is layered with petals and leaves. If you haven't seen Arizona Poppies, I did a Google search for you and here they are! I love trying to incorporate flowers and other botanical elements into my jewelry. If you've been following my work for a while, in January I had an Arizona Poppy collection that was quite different. I'm excited to keep figuring out new ways to capture botanical elements in mostly 2D silversmithing.

Back to the current necklace...An 18k gold bezel with 18k gold accent beads highlight the creamsicle Carneilan stone, faceted to catch the light just right. But wait, I want to show you the backside, because it's not just an afterthought, it's also a part of the whole design.

This is the first necklace in the Big Beauty Collection and it might be my favorite of the bunch. (See them all here and be the judge!) I made the chain with two jump rings so that it can be clasped at 18" or 20", to give you a little wiggle room and make it more versatile. This necklace is in the shop, so go give her a visit.
