Measurements: Earrings are approximately 2 1/2" long and 13/16" wide. Earring hooks are 20 gauge sterling. These weigh 4.5 grams each.
Constructed piece by piece, a silver frame holds an arc of antique African trade beads. The dusty pink color is so lovely. These beads most likely were made in Europe over 100 years ago, then traded to the Maasai people in Kenya where they were prized as currency and used in traditional dress. I purchased them from a bead seller at the Tucson Gem show. It would be fascinating if we could know the whole journey of these beads. Earrings are made of recycled silver and trade beads. (The periwinkle accents are trade beads from the Fulani people in Nigeria.)
Earrings come in a hand-sewn drawstring gift bag made out of repurposed fabrics or an eco-friendly gift box.
