As 2021 begins, I am again packing up my jewelry bench. The plan is to finally finish the straw bale studio! I've been working in a complete construction zone since October. While my bench was totally functional in it's dusty, tool-strewn little corner, now it's time to really make this studio a cozy home for Lumenrose Jewelry.

We'll be finishing two coats of interior earthen plaster, Ben will be making oak window sills and Ben will also be engineering a combination of solar radiant floor heating and solar hot air heating. I need to figure out flooring, furniture and design a completely custom new workbench. I've always worked in tiny places and on tiny surfaces. I don't mind, in fact I love, the small work spaces since everything is in reach. But this new bench will run the full length of the room (which is only 8') and be about 2/3 jewelry bench, 1/3 packaging/shipping station. I'm trying to account for some room to grow (fingers crossed I can buy a rolling mill this year and maybe set up a stump to do my hammering on), while making the best use of the small studio square footage - 88 square feet. The other half of the building will be a play area for baby Amalia, a cozy place to sit, and hopefully a real display case for finished work. That's about it!

Here's the latest outside pic of the studio:

So all this means I will not be making new work for a while. However, some classic made to order styles like the Wishbones, LUV Hearts, and Hammered Hoops will remain available, as those don't require a torch. And anything else that’s listed and ready to ship is available too. In the meantime I have just added the first pieces I created in the early days of 2021 to the shop. I hope you like their shiny newness and that your new year is off to a great start!

P.S. Garnet is January's birthstone FYI. ;) New Garnet and turquoise jewels below.
